The second picture is of Sadie looking at the pictures that I sent to the social workers just after Christmas. They were kind enough to print them for her and frame them. The social workers told us that Sadie was "very excited and very happy to see the pictures."
We learned that we are not going to be able to Skype with our girl between trips, which is a bummer but completely understandable. The foster mom does not have easy access to a computer and the language barrier is an issue as well. I will be able to continue to send pictures and the social workers will pass them along.
We've been working hard on putting the final touches on Luke and Sadie's room! I'll post pictures of it soon. Who knew that two toddler beds could look so stinkin' cute?? Our church family threw an AMAZING shower for Sadie in which she was given the best wardrobe in all of our town. She now has the cutest dresses, play clothes, shoes and bathing suits I've ever seen.
I have been overwhelmed by the love and support that we have received from this community!
We are currently waiting on word that our paperwork has been signed by the Minister of Justice in Bulgaria and has been sent to court. Will you pray with us that we will hear this news in the next week or so? Once our paperwork is in court, we will be given a court date. It is on that court date that the judge will decide if we can be Sadie's parents. If he or she says, "yes," then we will officially become Sadie's legal parents and her name will be changed to Sadie Caroline Shoger. We will travel for pick up trip 3 to 5 weeks after our court date. So, here's what we are hoping the schedule will look like:
- Paperwork sent to court by the end of February
- Court date sometime mid March
- Travel for pick up mid April
All of this is very much up in the air and is completely contingent on the Bulgarian government. So, we wait and hope for God's perfect timing! We'll keep you posted as things progress! Blessings to you all!
